Keep Them Open Challenge

During this Covid-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic, everyone in society is adjusting. Some parents are working from home. Teachers are giving virtual lessons. The biggest adjustment is learning how to adapt to a world that is encouraging more virtual interaction. However, it is not so easy for all local businesses to conduct business virtually.

It is difficult for restaurants, gyms, food banks, and helpful organizations like the Humane Society to stay open during a shelter-in-place order. How do these companies stay open during this pandemic if their patrons are unable to visit their businesses? Local business is the backbone of our community.

To help with local restaurants in Pitt County, Tyre Realty Group is challenging others to help pay it forward. The Keep Them Open Challenge is simple: Donate $100 to a local restaurant. Then challenge five others to do the same. These five can be anyone from friends, family members, and other local business owners. Then those five donate $100 to a restaurant and challenge five others. Sounds easy, right?

To kick off the challenge in Pitt County, Homer and Rachael Tyre donated $100 to Rep Express of Greenville. In their challenge video, they asked Grant Barker with Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group, TD Goodwin Construction, Henry Hinton with 103.7 WTIB, Stokes Family Farm, NC and Jonathan & Jamie Williams of Jersey Mike's Subs in Greenville.

It's not much, but every little bit can help keep our favorite local restaurants open during this uncertain time. If you decide to participate in the challenge, tag TRG (@tyrerealtygroup) on Facebook and or Instagram and use #KeepThemOpenChallenge and #TRGives.
